Documents indicate that Haendel Elias Katzenstein was born in Eschwege and settled "with wife and children" in Kassel in 1806, where he was granted citizenship (via Bürgerbrief). Citizenship documents indicate "Commisionär" as his profession. Adolph Gotthelft was born in Kassel, presumably the son of Abraham Herz Gotthelft; worked as a typesetter in Berlin and Kassel. He later owned his own print shop in Kassel and married Fanny Rosenstein. They had a son Richard, born 1...
